Explore the world of Backbends & Heart Openers with Colette Marie, as she guides you on a journey of discovering the hidden truths about body mechanics, techniques, breath and bandhas (energy locks), executed to fully experience key poses such as bridge pose, fish, wheel, and camel, practiced in the Power Yoga style.
Colette will share her knowledge regarding what important muscle groups to use and bones to align in order for the body to feel more comfortable while in any one of the postures previously mentioned.
Props will be used such as straps and blocks, as well as working in pairs to practice Acro-Yoga aspects, as a partner will be an anchor in a backbend to aid the other in deepening their pose.
If you wish to learn to practice Hollow Backs, we will use the wall to begin working on engaging the core and upper body for ultimate strength and stability while in position.
